Cold rain, sleet and snow – winter is on the way. In the Alps, there are changes underfoot. As the hiking season draws to a close, it’s time to gear up for winter sports. Snowshoes, skis, snowboards and split boards are coming in. The same process is
taking place in the cities. Only there are slippery leaf-strewn sidewalks instead of muddy trails, and slushy pavements instead of tracks with deep snow. However, all these situations require footwear that provides a good grip and keeps feet warm and dry.
Hanwag has the right boots for this winter, whether about town or out in the great outdoors. And they are all made with a handcrafted cemented or double-stitched construction. Designed specifi cally for cold conditions, Hanwag winter boots have special features, such as the removable thermo footbed or the WarmthPlus Layer – an insulating layer added to the insole for extra insulation at low temperatures. And for good traction on frozen paths or black ice, they are equipped with the tried-and-tested Hanwag IceGrip sole. It comes in a number of different versions, depending on the intended spectrum of use for each Hanwag winter model to provide a sure grip, even on black ice.
